Eagle Pass Alumni on the Web

[1] Somebody told me that somebody they know will be airing live audio broadcasts of several Eagle Pass varsity football games on the internet this year. It's a neat idea -- something to help some of the alumni feel like they're not so far from home. Please help spread the news via e-mail, phone, fax, etc. Here are some simple instructions to hear the next game at home Oct. 5 against O'Connor. Click this link: http://www.live365.com/stations/288367 Then click on the little speaker symbol that represents "play." If you don't already have the live365 player installed, it will go through some easy steps to follow, then after a few minutes the audio should begin playing. This friday's game begins at 7:30. If you wish to test your reception ahead of time, the internet broadcast of the KINL audio will begin at 7. This is still a somewhat experimental effort, but it should work. Good luck, and give the eagles your support.

[5] Despite witnessing the Eagle defeat last Friday, I was glad that the BAND didn't let me down. The E.P.Band is AWESOME!!!!!!!!! They sound great, march great and just look GREAT! I'm not surprised. Mr. G and company always have it together. It makes me proud to have been part of such an EXCELLENT organization (1990-1992). Keep up the GREAT job!

[8] As a Viet-Nam Era Vet and the Gulf War Vet. I would like to say THANKS! to all the rescuers in our most recent tragedy. To all Military personnel that will be going off to a different country, you know America is behind you and of course our prayers. This is one American that is willing to do it all over again, even thought I'm retired from the National Guard. So if any one from E.P. knows of anyone in the Armed Forces that is deploying to the Middle East , let us know the name and address, so some of us can keep in touch, and let that person know there is someone keeping them in their prayers. May God Bless those Firefighters, police officers and all rescuers. God Bless America .

[12] There are many changes taking place in our community which are good signs perhaps for the coming generations in Eagle Pass. I visit Eagle Pass as often as I can which is usually once per month. I noticed that homes throughout Eagle Pass are being repaired, fixed-up and lawns are being improved. It makes me think that although new construction is up, many are doing improvement instead of building new homes. What impressed me the most this past weekend was the neighborhood park at the intersection of Quarry and Nueces. I saw parents with their children walking around the walking trail, others in the playground and some sitting and talking; and this was at 8:00 pm. If this could be duplicated throughout all the neighborhoods, it would be a true wonder.

[13] I pray for us all. Pobre gente. Si, how sad and tragic! My prayers are with all of those who lost their lives and families due to the small number of terrorists involved in the acts against us. But do not sterotype. Do not place blame on all people. Only a handful of terrorists were involved in the actual act. Do not blame everyone of their heritage for the few cowards and their acts! As a historian, I know how difficult it is for people to lose a family member, land, property, and personal security. History shows us that many natives lost their families, lands, properties, and personal securities. But what are going to do now? Are we to blame all EuroAmericans for what happened in the past? Do not stereotype people! I have many relatives who work for the US Border Patrol and respect highly what they do. I know that the men in my family are trying to make an honest living and enjoy the working outdoors. So, no me tomen a mal. Pero Chihuahua, tanto Border Patrol con su high tech/infra-red equipment y todo eso, cuando they should have been in Canada instead. O, no? Think about it. Where did the terrorist come in through? CANADA. Y, que hay en Canada? Not too many Border Patrol. Just keep this in mind: The man who shot/killed a innocent person coming across the US/Mexico border a few months ago, was only put on probation. Hijo de su, he deserved TDC time, o no? No, the judge just gave him a slap on the hand! Primero que workers in the US do not want to work hard jobs and then those men from Mexico come and look for the work that those here do not want. Y despues, no mano, pa-tras, the PUSH AND PULL EFFECT! Ay si, que chulos, they send them back to their country after the work here has been completed. Don't sterotype people, verdad? Sadly, violence happens everyday in our country. Y eso que we are civilized, eh. Y, quien fue el que los entreno a fly? Y, el Sadam? Que? Pues we taught him, too. To make things worse, our Mr. Bush wants us to get ready for war. Porque el dice. Que gana? More innocent lives will be taken. Where is the justice? Don't sterotype people.

[14] I wanted to add a note of sympathy in regards to the horrific events that occured yesterday. If any alumni had family lost or near New York or D.C., my most sincere thoughts of hope are extended to you. Although I am very far from New England, here in Austin, TX the event was very much felt. I hope the turn out of this event is that of a positive one. Remember that "Freedom was attacked and freedom will be defended" ...pres. George W. Bush. "Hook 'EM Horns" Karina.

[8] It should be duly noted that on the day before the "All Classes Reunion", we recognize the work that several of our fellow alumni took upon themselves in setting up this event. Knowing the many arrangements that must be made, I am sure they have given much of their time. I know that I speak for all alumni when I say that we sincerely appreciate what they have done. So tomorrow night, make sure you thank Roberto Aguilera, Ana Laura Castillon Perez, John Cortinas, Lilie Elizondo-Limas, Irene (Riojas) Rodriguez, Carlos Cerna, Anna (Mascorro)Menchaca, Jose "Zurdo" Menchaca, Rodolfo (Rudy) Mack, Eva Gonzalez-Mendez and others. [34] Sometimes when you have a stressful day or week, you need something to break up the day. Here is your dose... Follow the instructions to find your funny name. The following is an excerpt from children's book, 'Captain Underpants and the Perilous Plot.' The evil Professor forces everyone to assume new names. Lest we take ourselves too seriously, take a moment to find your new name and wear it with humor for the day... Use the third letter of your first name to determine your NEW first name: A = stinky B = lumpy C = buttercup D = gidget E = crusty F = greasy G = fluffy H = cheeseball I = chim-chim J = poopsie K = flunky L = booger M = pinky N = zippy O = goober P = doofus Q = slimy R = loopy S = snotty T = falafel = dorkey V = squeezit W = oprah X = skipper Y = dinky Z = zsa-zsa Use the second letter of your last name to determine the first half of your NEW last name: A = diaper B = toilet C = giggle D = bubble E = girdle F = barf G = lizard H = waffle I = cootie J = monkey K = potty L = liver M = banana N = rhino O = burger P = hamster Q = toad R = gizzard S = pizza T = gerbil U = chicken V = pickle W = chuckle X = tofu Y = gorilla Z = stinker Use the fourth letter of your last name to determine the second half of your NEW last name: A = head B = mouth C = face D = nose E = tush F = breath G = pants H = shorts I = lips J = honker K = butt L = brain M = tushie N = chunks O = hiney P = biscuits Q = toes R = buns S = fanny T = sniffer U = sprinkles V = kisser W = squirt X = humperdink Y = brains Z = juice Thus, for example, George W. Bush's new name is Goober Chickenshorts. Go figure. Clinton's new name is Poopsie Liverchunks. Now, when you forward this, use your new name as the title of the subject line. Don't forget to send it to the person who sent it to you.

[43] To: Maria Johns:I have gone over some of our old football game videos and found both the alma mater and the fight song but because of all the ambient noise from the crowd, I have not been able to convert them to midi format which is the only possible way to play it back for most people. Hello, Eagle Pass Alumni and fellow classmates of 1984, Well I went to visit my mother over the spring break vacation. And It was sad to see my old Elementary School Torn down(SAN LUIS) with the exeption of the cafeteria (wich is being used as warehouse). But I have to say Eagle Pass sure has changed in the 6 years I have been away. I just wished there were more things to do there and that the county lake would be imporved and that the local theater would have better seats. But Overall I still enjoy going over there for a few days.
