HI, I attended Graves Elementary during the 70's. I am trying to locate
my best friend during that time. She would have graduated from EPHS in
1978. Her maiden name was Lupe Reyna. She married Rudy Santos and moved
to Abilene. I lost track of her a few years ago. If any one can help, I
would appreciate it. I am Joe and Lilo Junfin's niece and I lived at the
Hillcrest Motel when I stayed in Eagle Pass. I was back for my Uncle's
funeral last year, and realized just how much I missed Eagle Pass. If any
one remembers me, send me a message. Diane

Got URL for E.P.web page from my brother who recently moved back to Eagle
Pass from Ca.Webmaster should be commended. It's good to read about my hometown.Sometimes
the news articles are very depressing, like the fire at the Dickerson residence. Then
again you get the bad with the good. The Dickerson family are in my prayers.Peace.

What has happened to my town. The town where morals were the standard of
actions in the public life as well as the home. Has my home become such
a pit of corruption that when a person's house burns down all that is assumed
is a conspiracy or scandal. I remember Carl Dickerson's father. He was
a man of integrity. He inspired me to rise above the oppresive social status
that so looms over those of small town hispanic life. He and his wife were
key educators in my elementary years. I can only assume that the strict
moral standards and work ethic that were placed upon me were applied to
family life at the Dickersons. I read the article on the internet and felt
a blanket of shame fall over me as I couldn't distinguish the difference
between The Guide or El Zocalo during heated political campaigns of the
PRI and PAN. I pray for that town. I can only hope that what I read was
blatant sensationalism and not a legitimate attempt at journalism.Educate
the voters.

Just wanted to drop a line all the way from Okinawa, Japan. Even though
I grew up in San Antonio All of my family lived or grew up around Eagle
Pass. My family originally came from Piedras Negras, Coahuila. I had a
cousin that went to school in Eagle Pass High School his name was Javier
Ballesteros. Anyway I love Eagle Pass and as soon as I go home on leave
I'm going to visit my good 'ol Eagle Pass. I'm also going to go across
the border and have alot of fun in Piedras Negras with my cousins. Well
thats all for now I never thought there would be a web page for Eagle Pass,

Thank God for the Internet: one can be thousands of miles away and still
read up on all the stupidities (carefully weighed word, not randomly chosen)
you leave behind -- the newest one being the uniform policy, an example
of a half-assed equitative measure at best or more bureaucratic mislegislation
cum incompetence at worst. Solutions exist for every problem, especially
one that is unflexible (for x reasons) and does not conform to the realities
of the community.

Wow! Congratulations Mr. Castillo on the presentation of this website.
You have truly come a long way. I would like to comment on the uniform
requirement for EPISD. I personally like the idea of school uniforms. When
I started school my parents could not afford school clothes. Anyway, I'm
here in Austin and our school newspaper put an article about the issue.
Needless to say, it made EP look bad, again. What's up? School uniforms
issue in Federal Court! I'm EP proud all the way, no doubt, but hey quit
whinning! I can hear ya'll down here. Nough Said, Claudia Puente Gotta
